Dresses Part 2

I am in the library with Neda[: (She says "Howdy howdy!") Here are more choice dresses!

This was going to be what my prom dress last year looked like. The coral color is beautiful, although I'm not normally a fan of pink and the short in front, long in back style is gaining momentum!

Again, not a fan of pink; but you never would've guessed, huh? This black, charcoal, and pink combo flows seamlessly.

Fierce, yet calm and collected

Elegant and sophisticated
Neda's note: And flawless. I fell in love with this one.

Mythical and chic. Reminds me of a dragon for some reason: definitely meant as a compliment.

Not usually too big on the plum color either, but it works amazingly with this dress.
Neda's note: Badabing. Badaboom. Didn't you love this one?

Feels like Fridays

The weather these past few days has been wonderful<3
We've gotten rain and clouds and a bit of cool, yet sunny days [: I've been loving it. Having weather like this actually cheers me up tons; I always end up laughing and smiling and spinning in the rain. It's great. The people who think it's gloomy and depressing are seriously missing out! "Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain." - Unknown
Also, ever since Wednesday, I've had an "It's Friday!" feeling; which is one of the best feelings to have :D
I went to the mall with Sumesh and Neda; we stared at puppies forever and then grabbed some soft pretzels before heading back. I worked on Speech and Debate. I played tennis. All that good stuff [:
I went to a pancake breakfast with my family this morning for a fundraiser for my brother's basketball place... yum pancakes :D
I have also been writing poetry again; I know it was a while since I updated...
On top of that, lots of college app based stuff; college presentations/research/supplements/yadayada. So excited, nervous, scared, and everything else x]

[things which I love]

I was looking through some of my old word documents that I had not named due to lack of time or some other reason so I could properly name and store them... And I came across a list I had made one day this year...

What I love:
My friends: Jeffrey, Devika, etc (who I can consider family)
My fam: Mom, Dad, Vivian, Justin, Grandma, Aunts/Uncles/Cousins/etc
Watching butterflies
The sky: clouds, sunsets, sunrises, stars, the moon
Rain – dancing/spinning in it
The park – running through it, sitting on the tennis courts, laying on the top of the slide staring up
Watching little kids running around and playing, especially my little siblings
The dark
Reading all day
Writing
Playing Sardines in Walmart
Flowers/gardens/flora
Animals
Stuffed animals
Taking pictures
Hugs
Singing and dancing around like a weirdo by myself/with my little sister/friends
Long phone calls
Comfortable silences that say all
Blasting music that just works perfectly with your mood
Looking back on all the wonderful parts of the past and not regretting it before looking forward into the future
Saying hi to random people
Making someone else smile/laugh or making their day
Dressing up
Spontaneous trips
Honesty
Having hope
Being proud to be yourself
Confidence
Spending time reminding yourself of child-like mentality/spending time to be a child again; with my siblings for one

Hope is the thing with feathers. -Emily Dickenson

I know, I know - I haven't updated in forever. But I have been booked down to minutes!
So much has happened that I don't even know if I'll be able to recall everything, so I'm just going to go with thinking that what I remember is all the more important/interesting parts :D

Butterflies are beautiful... They still don't cease to give me hope and a smile to my face. In whatever situation I'm in, as soon as a butterfly flutters by (as irrational as that sounds), I think about how things will turn out alright. "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." -Unknown

That quote speaks the truth. That quote is one of my mottos. That quote drives me, gives me inspiration, and reminds me that will power, perseverance, and hope (along with a sprinkle of optimism) never does any harm.

Going off of that, I have finally started something which I have always wanted to do, but never go the chance to. I started recording all the quotes that I find meaningful, enlightening, or humorous into a composition book. This compilation will be full at one point in my life - all 200 pages of it! I have always loved quotes and reading through my pages after pages of quotes reminds me why I live my life the way I do and why I am the person that I am - why I choose to choose how I do.

I have been asked by several friends to write their peer/friend letter of recommendation for their brag packet for the college letter of recommendation process. I've finished Sumesh's and Kimia's, started on Jennifer's and Jeffrey's, and still have to get a move on Llewellyn's! Actually, I'm quite flattered that of all people they could have gone to they came to me.

I have also been freaking out a bit over the whole college application/choice process. Yet again. My oh my, it's coming up fast! I'm excited, terrified, and unsure all at once. I'm trying to find, choose, and narrow down my choices of colleges. So many factors! It's been helpful talking to some friends about it though; they talked some of the anxiety right out of me.

My friends are important to me, and so is my family. They are people who have impacted my life in ways more than anybody might understand. If you do comprehend this feeling and think yours parallel mine, then I am happy for you and am letting you know to cherish it because it's the most valuable aspect of any life.

I love my best friend and big brother, Jeffrey Hsu. He has been with me through thick and thin. He's the first to laugh and exclaim "Yay!" at my failures. He's the first to point out flaws he sees. But it's never cruel, mean, awkward, or difficult; it's simply an understanding we've grown to have. We talk about anything and everything, with or without actually uttering a single word. I know I say these things about him all the time, but that's because that's what it is all the time. I'm not sure if it was possible, but I feel like the two of us have gotten even closer than we were... Oh! Also, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but we got our matching silver rings, for our 10-yr friendaversary [:

He and I actually filled out surveys for our school's yearbook about our best friends. I guess we'll just have to wait until the end of the year to see if we'll actually be featured, though.

I have also started talking a lot with Stephen. He's the type of guy who likes to mess with people, get a reaction out of them, so there are lots of people who complain about him or don't like him. From my perspective, though, he's really not all that bad. In fact, he's pretty funny and interesting to talk to. He, too, has been quoted in my composition book: "When you're mad at the world, laugh."

I have also been spending a lot of time with my friend, Neda. We started talking a long time ago, but never had the chance, or rather took the chance, to get close, but I see that changing already this year. We have the last class of the day every day with one another. We hang out after school. We talk at lunch. Sometimes she joins me by the tennis courts on the days I have a match. Every once in a while we'll chat over Facebook or text, but that's not the same as in person. (This isn't just with her. Call me old school or whatever you'd like, but I'm still the girl who prefers phone calls to texts; and I prefer talking face to face even more than that). It's hard to find someone who truly listens and cares like Neda; she is definitely one of the sweetest, most honest, and easiest-to-talk-to people I have ever encountered. I am completely grateful for our friendship and hope we continue to get closer as the school year progresses.

Tennis has been fun; I've gotten a bit closer with the girls on Varsity tennis. Sometimes, I still feel out of place on the team, but our bonding time at practices, matches, and get-togethers like Souplantation dinners definitely get us feeling closer.

I get called busy very often and I'll admit to it, but I'd have it no other way. These extracurriculars are what keep me sane (or insane, but happy). Speech and Debate still has lots of my love; and, now, even more of my time. Being IE captain feels so rewarding, being able to listen to my peers' ideas and work and sharing our feedback. This past week, I've had several special requests to work on their piece with me; I won't lie, that made me feel quite loved/special/important. HOSA was quite successful in our club recruitment and the Jamba Juice fundraiser I set up sold pretty well. Psychology club has been planning out our first meeting's activities, and I look forward to when we start our general meetings, starting next Friday. I signed up for Film Club and Sign Language Club just to see where that goes and how it turns out, along with Key Club and NHS - definitely!

Yesterday, I met my little buddy! :D At my school, the juniors and seniors (and a couple sophomores) can sign up to be paired up with a new 7th grader, to be their friend, mentor, whatever you want really. I think it's a great thing that our school does (despite some flaws).

Today, I passed my driving test! Woot. Licensed! [:

Tomorrow, I wake up early to head to a Speech and Debate tournament. But what's the difference this time? I'm going to be JUDGING!! :D I'm excited! It's the Novice Tournament and I cannot compete in that, but I'm looking forward to judging their rounds (it looks like I have been entered in the pool to judge for IE's. Perfect.)

I don't know if I'm leaving out anything all too important right now, so I guess I'm going to log off and head to bed soon. Time's a tickin' and tomorrow's a comin'.

But before I leave, here are some artists/songs I have been listening to:
Skylar Grey - Invisible
Demi Levato - Skyscraper
Selena Gomez - Who Says
Christina Grimmie - Above All That is Random 4
Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
and lots and lots of songs from P!nk

We Are Young

My driving test. Well... that didn't go well. I felt so prepared, finally, after all that fretting and worrying about failing. I drove around beforehand, pretty confident. After the long wait time and car check, I was finally ready to get going with the test, BUT I never left the DMV; I auto-failed because of examiner intervention... I pulled up to the stop sign, ready to go. I waited for the cars to turn and cars to pass, then I took my foot off the brake pedal, BUT some driver comes speeding down the lane and the examiner goes STOP! "to prevent an accident from occurring." Sigh. Oh well, going to be even more cautious 2nd time around - in 2 weeks!!

Yesterday, one of my best friends, Devika, and her boyfriend came by my house and asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch. YAY FOR SPONTANEITY! <3 We went out to IHOP for breakfast food lunch :D I also had the first day of our two day varsity tennis tryouts...

Today, Devika came by to straighten my hair. Then, I had senior portraits at school. Lots of people don't like taking pictures or dressing up. Many of our class just went in for the yearbook picture - in then out, asap. Me? I guess I'm a bit of an oddball; I love dressing up, and taking pictures is actually pretty fun, especially if its going to be studio quality x] Then, I quickly changed to get to the second day of tennis tryouts. The results are supposed to be emailed out tonight by our coach, but they're still not here!! I'm nervous!!

Oh. Also today, I was singing quite a bit x] To what? Why how about I show you?

Tonight, Today, To Accomplish

Today, I practiced driving with my permit, hopefully for the last time; tomorrow is my driving test! O: Fingers crossed...
Today, I also received an email from the tennis coach saying I am one of 8 competing for the remaining 5 open spots on the varsity team. Bring it!
Today, I also started reading this book I bought called White Witch, Black Curse by Kim Harrison.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, and beyond, I accomplish! :D

Tonight and earlier today's song: Tonight Tonight - Hot Chelle Rae

So catchy!

It’s been a really really messed up week
Seven days of torture, seven days of bitter
And my girlfriend went and cheated on me
She’s a California dime but it’s time for me to quit her

La la la, whatever, la la la, it doesn’t matter, la la la, oh well, la la la

We’re going at it tonight tonight
There’s a party on the rooftop top of the world
Tonight tonight and were dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign
I don’t know if I’ll make it but watch how good I’ll fake it
Its all right, all right, tonight, tonight

I woke up with a strange tattoo
Not sure how I got it, not a dollar in my pocket
And it kinda looks just like you

La la la, whatever, la la la, it doesn’t matter, la la la, oh well, la la la

We’re going at it tonight tonight
There’s a party on the rooftop top of the world
Tonight tonight and were dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign
I don’t know if I’ll make it but watch how good I’ll fake it
Its all right, all right, tonight, tonight

You got me singing like
Woah, come on, ohh, it doesn’t matter, woah, everybody now, ohh

Just don’t stop let’s keep the beat pumpin’
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
It’s my party dance if I want to
We can get crazy let it all out

Just don’t stop let’s keep the beat pumpin’
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
It’s my party dance if I want to
We can get crazy let it all out

Its you and me and were runnin this town
And its me and you and were shakin the ground
And ain’t nobody gonna tell us to go cause this is our show

Everybody
Woah, come on, ohh, all you animals
Woah, let me hear you now, ohh

Tonight tonight there’s a party on the rooftop top of the world
Tonight tonight and were dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign
I don’t know if I’ll make it but watch how good I’ll fake it
Its all right, all right, tonight, tonight
Its all right, all right, tonight, tonight
Yeah its all right, all right, tonight, tonight

Just singing like
Woah, come on, ohh, all you party people
Woah, all you singletons, ohh, even the white kids

Just don’t stop lets keep the beat pumpin’
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
Its my party dance if I want to
We can get crazy let it all out

Just don’t stop lets keep the beat pumpin’
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
Its my party dance if I want to
We can get crazy let it all out
